Thanks Lads :good:
Yes, post war poncho, i wasnt going to include it, but the pack looked lacking abit and well i might carry it on the day depending on the weather, tried playing in it the other day..that was interesting :giggle:

I did make a point to get the slings in the right place, was going to do it myself then I saw this lot from d and b militaria for about £35 with the slings in the right place, so that was nice, now just for a sling...ive got a LE sling, will that do or do i need a proper tommy one?

As regards to the entrenching tool, I didnt realise that could happen! hmmm it does feel a little loose, maybe a bit of stealthy string behind the handle to pull the straps together making them more torte ? I'll have a go

thanks for the help guys, bring on Crete :happyclap:

Yes, a lee enfield sling is what you want.

As for the tool. A drawing pin or small nail pushed in through the webbing will do. Personally I usually go farby and use a postwar cover that has a retaining strap when airsofting. I don't think have an unblancoed one like that so will probably just keep checking its there!

That looks excellent and your webbing is nice and tight, not sloppy and slack.

I have a lot less Y strap where it passes through the right hand loop on the e-tool carrier, so the waterbottle is quite hard up against the handle which seems to help hold it in. Like Yith said, a pin would do the trick too.

Cheers

It'll be like butlins in the 40's, all these knees about. Will probably have to have a knobbly knees contest, see who's are the bloodiest at the end of the day :D

Thanks Martin, getting the longer straps did the job for me, but now ive got a little to much now, canny win! Drawing pin seems to work if i put one in each, if its lost i suppose I'll be paying the walk on fee Sunday :slap:

That looks great mitrano! your uniform and photographic skills are really excellent :good:

I on the other hand have neither BUT its a beautiful day and I thought I'd post my first impression, so tips on improvement would be really helpful. I did however manage to put the helmet on my head, so that was a better start than expected :giggle:

Looking good, my only recommendation would be to tighten the shoulder straps of the small pack. You want it sitting high up on the back. At least that's what I've been able to tell from photos of the time. It also looks more "policed" that way, and it helps with its tendency to flop around while running if everything is squared away.

I would also advise you to take your finger off the trigger. ;)

From a local airshow we attended last weekend, did a bit of a publicity spin to recruit more WW2 airsofters:

From left to right:
- Brit glider pilot, with spike bayonet mounted on Sten
- SS corporal (Unterscharfuhrer) in summer (HBT) dress; I'm very glad I had my toque stowed in my gas mask case...!
- South African trooper from the North African/Italian campaign; note the orange slip-on straps on the shoulder boards, and the springbuck collar pins

Thanks a lot :)

It's WPG. Too dark and too "vibrant", I bought it before I even knew about the SOF one.

Thanks, I couldn't place it. I agree the SoF/Rangercamp model does look better.

Nachrichtenhelferin der Heers - got the girlfriend interested, she attended her first game yesterday (Signals duty, interrogation/secretarial assistance), and she loved it.
